As many of us have, I grew up reading the HP series and watching the movies. I've read each book more times than I can remember and the paperback versions have started to fall apart from overuse (then again they have been being read continuously for 11 years).

Today, I realized the next generations aren't going to have the opportunities that we've had. They won't ever go to a bookstore or movie theatre in the middle of the night to get/see the latest HP book or movie.

When they are children, new series will have come out and even the HP series is an eternal classic, they won't appreciate it as much as we do.

Harry Potter has made such a positive impact in the world (I mean, just look at the HP Alliance) and I whole heartedly believe that it will continue to do so with this generation...but what happens when it's time to pass the torch? Will the next generation step up and continue to use their love for this amazing series to change the world?

My question is, how do you, Harry Potter fans, plan to keep the magic alive for future generations?

I will definitely pass these books down to my children. I think besides the fact that they are so great, they have so many good lessons to teach kids growing up and I was able to learn these lessons by growing up with the books. So much of my life has been about and because of Harry Potter that I can't imagine not passing it down. I think that continuing the conventions and going to the theme park (amazing!) and things like that will definitely keep the magic alive for a very long time :)

Like everyone else, if I have kids, I will definitely read the books to them. One of the things that is bound to keep the series alive is the fact that it has been introduced into school curriculums, not only grade school and high school, but college ( in the United States at least). I think because of the popularity of the series there will continue to be Harry Potter conventions, just like there are still Star Trek conventions. There are some things that go beyond fame, worth more than money, or just about anything.

I intend to remake the movies, because I don't feel these movies did the books justice. Yes, they were good movies, but... they weren't as good as the books. I also intend to build Hogwarts and convert it into a hotel/locattion after I've finished filming the movies in it (Yes, I'm ambitious, but I believe you create your own reality).
So maybe I'll be able to give the next generation an opportunity to have the magical uniting experience we had at the midnight events. =)

I plan on quite literally raising my future kids on the books. I also recommend them to any kids I babysit.

I intend to share Harry Potter with my younger family members. I will also tell them about all of the great things that I have been able to do through Harry Potter. I will keep it alive, no matter how much people say I am not able to. The magic will stay a live, and nothing can compare.

I just intend to keep being a fan. I think that people will continue to read them like they do other books. Many books are continually read long after their release. We just have to trust that HP is an excellent series and the magic will live on as long as there are people who have it in their hearts. And yes, if I ever have a child I do plan to introduce them to HP. :) Also donating copies to libraries that don't have them, like in "Accio Books" can pass the magic on to someone who hasn't heard of it before. :)

I read books 1-6 the year before the seventh book came out, when I was in fourth grade. I really only read them because my friends told me they were amazing. I can't imagine not reading them now. I think because Harry Potter has gained so many fans, it will be hard for it to go away. I think that telling people about it will help it continue, the stories are magical. But, they won't have the opportunities we had. And I didn't even have many opportunities, I wasn't born when the phenomenon began. Hopefully bookstores, libraries, and movie thearters will continue to have Harry Potter parties\projects. Hopefully we can pass it down to our children and they will be just as loyal HP fans as we are. I totally get what you mean, I had that question myself.
