Bomb Threat

At my school, some people go to the technical center for classes. It is actually based in a different school so they get bussed out in the morning. Today, they all came flooding back into OUR school at about 9:00am. this was because the tech center had had a bomb threat so they were all evacuated. Later, during second block, the fire alarm went off. We thought it was just a regular fire drill so we just walked out of the school. We began to realize that it is not a drill when we stand outside for about 45 minutes! Then all of the teachers start herding us toward the baseball field where we stay for another hour.

Finally, one of the school directors gathers us all around (and this is about 1125 people because the 375 freshman were in the upper soccer field) and tells us that there has been a bomb threat and that we were evacuating! The buses started arriving but they had to be sent down the street where they lined up in the middle of the road, stopping traffic from both directions. Luckily, I get a ride into school with one of my friends and we park up the hill. We were allowed to walk up to the car. One small problem: most people keep their car keys in their bags (which were in the school) and the seniors who park in the parking lot right next to the school weren't allowed to go near it! they couldn't drive home. SO, everyone (except for the people who had their keys and parked far away) piled into the buses. Then there was the battle of getting OUT of the parking lot.

There were five different people signaling us and we got confused and turned out the wrong way! So we had to turn around. When we got back, there were police from each of the four towns that attend the school, state police, fire trucks and a bomb squad swarming the campus. As we were driving along, we even saw people walking home. So now, an entire student body of 1500 students is at home without their homework, phones, iPods, laptops, cameras and generally anything else they may need! And THAT, my friends, was my day.

I am now going to the doctor because I cant seem to get rid of this cold!

So moral of the story? People really need to consider other people when they do things like this! Being a Malfoy is NOT OK when everyone needs to do their final projects, homework and study for exams! If you are planning some sort of prank or even have malicious intent, think about all of the unnecessary stress and aggravation you will be causing to others!

Yeah the guy who did it turned himself in. I didn't know him. And get this: he typed up the note he left in the bathroom on his SCHOOL account! Then printed it out and left it in the bathroom closest to his advisory (like homeroom if you don't know). DUH! how dumb do you have to be?? So we have to go an extra day now! Great. Yeah you know that the world has gone crazy when there are two bomb threats in one day in VERMONT!

I actually heard about this in school today (I live in southwestern VT). Rumor is it was a senior prank? i would have been unbelievably angry...I'm sorry you had such a horrible day!
