Jesca Hoop sings more alternative style music. Its very pretty.
Here is one of her songs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDeJv7K3Ad8
Tell your parents "Happy Aniversary!" Happy Yule as well. :)
Thanks! The quote was on the back of a book about Darfur I got awhile ago called Not on Our Watch.
It was definitely lots of fun, despite the falsely named "Holiday Break" falling conveniently on Christmas every single year and only by chance on Hanukkah. (One of the benefits of unschooling, no?)
I;m breaking from writing and sneaking on here briefly, Hee hee! Anyway, Happy early Yule (since I won't be on here when it actually is Yule). What kind of stuff do you do for Yule? Decorations? Presents? Special food?
Also, (I know you've been asked a million times, but I'm still curious) What happened with Twilight? I heard there was a rumor that Stephanie Meyer gave money to some group or something, but I couldn't find specifics.
I'd love to hear what you have to say on Twilight. :) I personally dislike it for the bad writing and the fact that it sends a very anti-femininst message to girls.
I just found an artist that I really like called Jesca Hoop. Her songs are so pretty. Have you heard of her?
I haven't talked to you for awhile, so I wandered over to your page. I'm curious, how did Twilight stop gays from marrying? I haven't heard anything about that! I don't like Twilight because of the writing, but I feel like after you tell me this, I'll dislike it even more.

First off, thanks for letting me know about the spammers. The person you mentioned has been suspended, although I'm curious to know if her account was phished (stolen by spambots) or if it was actually her doing the spamming.
I definitely think you should try out morning pages; I find it really relaxing. It's something that probably would be easier with voice-recognition software, and it's great because if the software makes a typo, it doesn't even matter because you're not publishing it anywhere for anyone else to see (unless you want to).
I'm alone on the Ning right now too, although that happens a lot, especially because I live in California and many Ning users are on East Coast (EST) time. Then again, some users don't even live in the US!
Although we don't have a blog project, we do have a video project! Did you see the recent post by Malory? (There's also an example that Andrew did that you can see -- it's currently embedded in the most recent blog post.)
Anyway, my holidays have been going pretty well, although I'm Jewish and I don't get a single day off for Chanukkah, but such is life... you get the solstice off, though, right? Is that the most important holiday? (Forgive me for my ignorance in that regard.)

In terms of a Ning Team, that might unfortunately be a rather distant thing. It's just that I've been told that "at some point" I may get a Ning Team. (Not that I wouldn't want you on the team! I just want to be clear that this probably won't be happening for a while.) I'd assume that you wouldn't need to join the staff until the Ning Team starts getting developed. But if (and when!) it happens, I'll contact you. I don't know that I have the authority to "give" you a position on the Ning Team, but I would certainly put in a good word for you! (And Andrew knows you really well, and recommended that you join!)
Morning pages are when, as soon as you wake up, you write three pages about whatever comes to your mind. It's supposed to be a good exercise for calm and for creativity.
You mentioned regular blogs every week, and that's something I've really been pushing for! It's been on my list of "Ideas for the Ning" for quite a while, but at this point I think that may have to wait until we have a Ning Team. Another thing I've been espousing is having HPA Chat meetings since the chat room is often so quiet (as you've undoubtedly noticed).
Thanks for the compliment about my blog (although I feel it was a bit disjointed now that I read it again).
So yeah! That's about it for now, I think!
Max
