What's your favorite TV show?

For me, it seems that a lot of what's on television really doesn't capture my attention. What we often see are trivial issues that aren't representative of real-life conflict. And yet there are some shows that are just brilliant, and a lot of the brilliance comes from how closely they demonstrate real, current issues and events. But that's just my opinion.

What is your favorite TV show and why? (If you like, you can mention more than one.)

Right now, I love Buffy!! I've watched the entire first season, and am intending to watch the rest of it. Also, I adore House.

One that I am no big fan of though, is Gossip Girl. I think it portrays and encourages the huge amount of shallowness and fixation on looks that exist in today's society. I don't think it's that entertaining either.

Buffy - she is one strong young woman
Firefly - Every person on that ship is likeable, even Jayne.
Glee - They want to sing about every issue imaginable. I love it.

Those are my top 3 right now.

And I agree with Elin. On top of most shows on the CW, I CANNOT stand reality shows on MTV, E!, VH1, etc for all of the same reasons. They really make me sick to my stomach.

My favourite TV shows would be Doctor Who and Lost. But I don't really watch them on TV; I watch them online mostly. As to why I like them, I'm not sure. I guess I like them because they're entertaining and they're fun to watch. Also, Lost has a bit of mystery which I like. :)

Yeah I agree with Elin too. Gossip Girl is the pointless show in the world. So is the Hills and all that kinda shows. Well stupid.

I'm probably getting a bit old for this,but I still love watching Hannah Montana on Disney Channel.I also like iCarly,AFV(America's Funniest Homevideos), and the Simpsons

My favorite TV shows right now would be Doctor Who and Phineas and Ferb on Disney Channel. I know I'm probably too old to still be watching Disney Channel lol but I love that show :) I just discovered Doctor Who and I instantly fell in love with it. I mostly watch that online though. I've been thinking about starting to watch Glee simply because I've heard so much about it. I can't help but wonder what I'm missing :)

@Elin, I have to agree with you about Gossip Girl. I've watched a couple of episodes and just couldn't get into it. I don't watch reality TV shows and the like.

My favorite shows are Doctor Who, True Blood and Chuck.

Currently I'm rewatching Chuck season 1 with my fiancée, Chris. It's a series about a nerd who works as a computer engineer at a Buy More (basically a Best Buy). His college friend sends him an email that uses subliminal messaging to download government secrets into his brain. He continues working at the Buy More as a cover and works as a spy for the Government. It's a really funny show, one I would recommend to anyone who likes awesome nerds doing awesome things.

I liked a show called Being Human, but seeing as its a BBC series from Brittan, I just haven't had time to watch this season because I have to search all over the internet for working links. It is quite good though. It can be a bit graphic though so know that before watching.

I like a show called Sanctuary on Syfy, but I watched it on hulu as I don't have a TV. Its quite good too. Its a supernatural action show.

I also like a the anime, Card Captor Sakura. Its a Japanese kids anime, but its just soo cute and fun and whenever I feel sad it will surely cheer me up.

I love LOST!! That's my big favorite right now. I love the characters and the sense of mystery surrounding the show.

Project Runway is another favorite... I love the creativity on display! Plus I've learned a lot about dressing myself from it, haha. :P

I also just finished watching all of Dexter. Great, really interesting show.

Elin, I used to watch Gossip Girl! I quit this fall, though--it just wasn't interesting anymore. I agree that it was totally shallow, but it was a guilty pleasure! :P I loved watching all their lives going off the rails. :P

I have a really eclectic taste in TV. Seinfeld, Entourage, LOST, I Love Lucy, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Flight of the Choncords, Doctor Who, Skins, and The OC are all favorites of mine. Contrary to what the length of the list implies, I really don't watch television often. :P
