The Harry Potter Alliance

Thank you all!

Thank you all so much for your generosity during our Helping Haiti Heal campaign, which closed yesterday at 11:59 PM EST.

As you've probably heard, we were able to raise far more than enough to send three cargo planes to Haiti, named after the three protagonists from the Harry Potter series.

As the issue of Haiti begins to fade from the news over the next few months, be sure stay updated and informed about the situation. It would be terrible if the Haitian people were forgotten when dire help was still needed (and it certainly will be).

Ladies and Gentlemen - Nigel Owens.

It’s not often I get worked up about someone else’s life. We all knew the basic story even if we didn’t really understand it. Friday 5th February 2010 turned out to be one of the best nights of Welsh TV I’ve watched in a long time, not merely because of who the guests were on the new series of Jonathan the night before a Wales/ England
match.

Canada's Hogwarts' Prom

Many of you have probably seen the Hogwarts' Prom being put on in 2011 by HPMA. Well Protego! Edmonton (first meeting in March) is putting one on in July as well, as a fundraiser for the Harry Potter Alliance. I had come up with the idea in November when sitting in my friends kitchen commenting on how I'd love to have a Yule Ball, but alas, it was too close to the approximate throwing time to have one in 2009. So I wanted to do something else, and I had read about a Hogwarts' Prom somewhere.

Voldemort turned around, and shot his fire on me

Imagine yourself a large, beautiful hall with red-draped walls and golden seats by the western wall. There are paintings in the ceiling with Asian symbols, and a huge door in front of you. Although it seems dangerous, you can't help yourself to do anything else than walking straight forward, and squeeze your fingers hard around the door handles. After having taken a deep breath, you open the door, and are therefore forced to observe the most loathsome sig

Potter trio rank as top earning actors of 2009

Movieline.com has disclosed a new list of the top grossing actors of 2009. The article notes Dan Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint all individually out-earned actor George Clooney.

On Rupert and Emma: "The young actors each took home $30 million for the two-part franchise finale Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows."

On Dan: "The Potter star made $40 million for Hallows. Has there been a more radically life-changing casting of an unknown? Maybe Al Pacino in The Godfather? Help me underst… Continue
